ITMS – The Difference
A great improvement from conventional IMS (Ion Mobility Spectrometry), ITMS enables extremely low concentrations of electrophillic vapors, such as explosive vapors, to be detected – something impossible with conventional IMS.
GE Ion Track recognizes that in many locations, security is about moiré than detection sensitivity. Under adverse conditions, dust and moisture easily foul conventional IMS detectors and can necessitate hours of ‘downtime’ every few days to bake out contaminants. With the advantage of ionization efficiency, ITMS systems are outfitted with a unique filtering system that eliminates the need for time-consuming bake-outs.

Unmatched Sensitivity At Your Fingertips
Designed for on-the-spot answers, VaporTracer2 is light enough (7lb/3.2kg) for tireless, all-day operation, yet versatile enough for the optimal detection of a wider range of contraband.
It can "sniff" vapor samples for traces of contraband as well as analyze invisible particles collected in "sample traps" swiped over skin, baggage, vehicles, containers, tickets or ID cards.
Swiping works well for detecting heroin, marijuana and PETN, while vapor analysis is more effective for dynamite, nitroglycerin and methamphetamine...

World's First Simultaneous Dual-Mode Detector
The desktop Itemiser3 is the world's first trace detector able to simultaneously detect both explosives and narcotics. As terrorists turn to narcotics for financing, the ability to test for both types of substances at once is a key security advantage as well as a major timesaver that reduces lines at checkpoints.
An operator simply swipes a "sample trap" on the surface of any item suspected of being contaminated with traces of contraband and inserts it for automatic analysis. Advanced software eliminates the need for data interpretation, freeing operators to concentrate on obtaining a good sample.

Fast, non-intrusive detection of explosives and narcotics
GE Ion Track's revolutionary walk-through portal quickly screens people for contraband without physical contact. Thanks to our patented Ion Trap Mobility Spectrometer (ITMS®) technology, EntryScan3 detects a wider range of explosives and narcotics with unprecedented sensitivity. It is the ideal complement to X-ray and metal detectors.
For higher throughput, visible and audible commands streamline checkpoints by automatically directing passengers to enter or leave the portal. If traces of explosives or narcotics are detected-or a person leaves before being prompted-EntryScan3 instantly sounds an alarm to facilitate rapid containment.
Lighter, quieter and easier to set up than other units, self-diagnostics for maintenance ensure performance stays at its peak. An onboard computer handles all data logging, including time, date and sample analysis.
Leading Sample Collection Technology
To collect microscopic particles for analysis, the EntryScan3 takes advantage of a natural upward airflow around the body called the "human convection plume." By not using forced airflow from a fan-which stirs up dust and other contaminants-cleaner samples are collected. Combined with ITMS technology, the EntryScan3 delivers higher detection sensitivity. Because there are fewer moving parts, it also offers quieter operation, reduced weight and improved long-term reliability.
